I am delighted to welcome you all to Athens for our upcoming meeting, 2025 APPLiA Summer Session & General Assembly.
This gathering represents an exciting opportunity for us to come together, collaborate, and make meaningful progress toward our shared goals.

Athens, a city rich in history and culture, offers an inspiring backdrop for our discussions. From its ancient landmarks like the Acropolis to its vibrant modern energy, I hope you’ll find both the setting and the meeting agenda invigorating.

Our meeting will take place June 10th to 13th, at Vincci Ever Eden Hotel located in Anavyssos. Please find the meeting agenda below. In addition to our formal sessions, there will be time to connect informally and explore some of the unique sights and experiences the location has to offer.

If you have any specific topics you’d like to address or contributions to add, please don’t hesitate to reach out ahead of time. I encourage you to come prepared with ideas, questions, and an open mind as we aim to make the most of our time together.

The hotel where we will be staying is located in Anavyssos, a picturesque region and settlement in southeastern Attica, within the Municipality of Saronikos. It is situated a short distance from the sea, offering a delightful coastal atmosphere.

Anavyssos is a place of deep historical significance, with evidence of human presence dating back to prehistoric times. Its beach, located near the former salt flats, is particularly popular among surfing enthusiasts and attracts visitors from near and far.

The area is also just a short drive from Sounio (also known as Cape Kolones or Kavo Kolones), located at the southernmost tip of the Attica region. Sounio is renowned for its strategic geographical importance and the ruins of the ancient Temple of Poseidon. In recent years, the broader area has been designated as a national park due to its environmental significance. Sounio is especially famous for its breathtaking sunsets, making it a must-see destination during your visit.
